Prince Albert Open Studios – Workshops

After a very successful January edition of the Prince Albert Open Studios Art Route, we were so looking forward to the popular winter one. Word seems to have spread that Prince Albert in early winter is delightful. Lovely days and cool evenings around toasty fires, the possibility of a quick hop up the Swartberg Pass in the event of snow and as always, plenty of warm Karoo hospitality.

One of the things we had planned, to extend the possibilities for visitors, was the addition of 2 days of Winter Workshops before the actual 4-day art route was due to begin. Obviously, Covid-19 had a hand in it, and we were unable to go ahead with these.

5 local artists were scheduled to present workshops on widely varied topics, so participants could try their hands at mixed media/encaustic wax with Sue Hoppe, ceramic pinch pots with Sue Savage, botanical coloured pencil drawing with Sally Arnold, kaleidoscope making with Turid Bergstedt and intaglio engraving with Diane Johnson-Ackerman.

Many are keen to reschedule these as soon as possible, so keep an eye on our Prince Albert Open Studios social media for updates.

Below are an example of the Workshops that had to be cancelled in June 2020, but hopefully will resume in the future
