“One of the things I enjoy so much about the found objects in the Karoo is their ‘desert patina’. There is a strong sense of age in the Karoo, and even though it is teeming with life, it has an abandoned, uninhabited vibe. ‘Lost’ and ‘discarded’ objects are so perfect to work with here. I love the minimal and simplicity of this environment.”
