Studio Address: 2 Parsonage Street
Sonja Fourie is a self-taught artist who began painting in 2009 and has developed a distinctive personal style over time. She moved to Prince Albert in 2019 and now works from her studio, affectionately known as the “skilder hoekie,” located at the entrance of her Karoo shop, Moeder Aarde. Sonja values creative collaboration and, prior to joining Prince Albert Open Studios, was part of the Volmoed art group under the guidance of artists Alyson Guy and Audrey Hickman. She has participated in group exhibitions including Kalfiefees, FynArts and Volmoed.
Deeply inspired by nature and the work of Claude Monet, Sonja works primarily in acrylics, drawn to their versatility and expressive potential. She views her studio as a place of joy and connection, and her artworks as visual stories — moments and memories captured to bring beauty and happiness into the world.
Sonja’s artworks are all originals and no prints are available. This makes her work much more unique for artlovers.
“Life is art, live yours with passion and in lots of colour”
